ASUS ROG Maximus Z690 Apex

Best Motherboards for Ryzen 9 5900

Premium Motherboard For Ryzen 9 5900 Gamers Choice

Brand: ASUS | Memory: 64 GB | Socket: LGA 1700 | Chipset Type: AMD B550 & AMD X570

The ASUS ROG Maximus Z690 Apex is one of the premium motherboards for Ryzen 9 5900. And guys, it has all the rights to be sold at this high price because the motherboard is dripping down with luxurious features.

Let me share some of the most important features I love the most here. The Z690 comes with PCIe 5.0, DDR5, 24 power stages,DDR5,5x M.2,PCIe 5.0 M.2,USB 3.2 Gen 2×2 front-panel connector, and Hyper M.2 Card bundled.

I would like to point out that the most important thing I loved about this motherboard was the advanced memory setup. This motherboard has a DDR5 memory set up, which shows what a premium pick it is.
But guys, I noticed a one-off thing about this motherboard after a brief use: excess power usage.

However, the powerful performance here will not get anywhere the best if that much power isn’t consumed in the first place.

Installation was smooth, and no difficulties were putting this beast into work. Talking about the BIOs, it went smoothly as well, and if there were some minor issues, they also vanished as soon as I updated the BIOS.

In terms of overclocking, the Z690 is a God here. I had it overclocked at 5.1 GHz, and the results were astonishing. I performed mining over this one, played high-end games, and edited videos, but there were no issues while having this motherboard at work.

Next, I was a bit worried about the temperature because I expected it to become hot as it consumes a lot of energy and performs its best simultaneously. However, thanks to its efficient heat dissipation technology, the motherboard remained cool, whether with or without overclocking.

But guys, all glitter is not gold, and just when I swooned over this motherboard, I realised it lacks an important feature. The Z690 lacks a video port, which was not disturbing for many users but for users like me who have to use Adobe Premiere might have to suffer the consequences.

When I turned the BIOS on, I searched the settings for the GPU. Not being able to find that option, I instantly knew that this was not the motherboard that would work the best for using Adobe Premiere. Sold at a premium price, I didn’t expect this blunder to happen here!

One main thing here is that the motherboard is explicitly advertised for overclocking enthusiasts, so there is nothing much to complain about here. But my personal opinion would remain the same, paying this high-end price, the video outputs were a must on the Z690.

Dual BIOS setup

Suitable for a gaming build

Extreme overclocking potential

Efficient cooling

Lacks iGPU

Extremely expensive

It might not work for recreational purposes

If you are up for gaming, we would only suggest going for the ASUS ROG Maximus Z690 Apex. It performs a solid performance but is a bit lagging with recreational purposes like Adobe Premiere; I would not expect these issues to exist here at this price.

Budget Pick

MSI MPG X570 GAMING PLUS Motherboard

Best Motherboards for Ryzen 9 5900

Best High-End Motherboard For Ryzen 9 5900

Brand: ASUS | Processor: 12th generation Intel Core processors | Chipset Type: AMD B550 & AMD X570 | Memory: 64 GB

Having a strict budget and buying PC components isn’t a combination that many would be able to get right. Often, users end up with incompetent PC builds not to break the budget.

And because of this reason, I have researched thoroughly about the budget pick that I will mention here because I would never want you guys to suffer in any way. So the MSI MPG X570 is one of the best budget motherboards for Ryzen 9 5900.

It is the best for many reasons, and I will share each and every spec here in detail. It has the latest VRM power delivery design to improve stability, and high-precision capacitors and high-density chokes are used for enhanced efficiency.

It has multiple 6+2 phase connectors, PCIe 4.0, DDR4, SATA 6Gb/s, M.2, USB 3.2 Gen 2, and HDMI. With an all-new design, this board will help you get the latest games running at full speed and keep your system stable and reliable.

The motherboard has no issues in installation because the I/O board came inserted, so the process was already made more accessible for me. Everything worked best, but guys, the BIOS was the most annoying thing here; it was a bug up to the point that it started to freeze suddenly at some points!

Even though we overclocked the system, the temperature remained stable. I guess this was because of the lots of VRM, maybe. Even without overclocking, the temperatures remained stable, and I was satisfied with the results.

It offers excellent performance along with good stability and overclocking abilities. I could get this system overclocked at 4400 MHZ, which is pretty decent and acceptable at this price.

Everything about this motherboard was alright except the BIOS, and because of that, I didn’t have a good time while overclocking. But then again, it’s a budget motherboard for Ryzen 9 5900, so I can expect it to happen.

Highly affordable

Easy to install

Decent overclocking

Dual M.2 support

Trashy BIOS

The MSI MPG X570 Gaming Plus offers a lot for people who appreciate saving money because it is affordable. But remember that this is not the motherboard to choose from if you want to do a lot of overclocking.

MSI Meg X570 Unify Motherboard

Best Motherboards for Ryzen 9 5900

Best Motherboard for Ryzen 9 5900 Editor’s Choice

Brand: MSI | Processor: AMD 3rd gen 5000 series and 2nd gen 3000 series | Chipset Type: AMD X570 | Memory: 128 GB

I’m introducing you to the MSI MEG X570, a high-end motherboard for the Ryzen 9 5900. Believe me when I say this is a quality motherboard—it truly is!

The new chips feature faster clock speeds (with lower TDP) than their predecessor, thanks to a new 14nm FinFET manufacturing process. Therefore, this implies that you will have a smoother game experience.

A DDR4 memory slot that can accommodate an RTX 2070 or possibly an RTX 2080 SUPER is present. Another incredible feature of the Godlike X570 is its ability to accommodate up to 128 GB of DDR4 RAM. I’ll let you folks know if it can withstand the test of time or not.

The design and finish come in various colours and are equally stunning. The integrated AMD GPU, Triple M.2, 6 SATA 6 Gbps connections, USB 3.2, AX Wi-Fi 6, and 10G LAN are all included. The most recent software drivers for AMD and Intel systems are also included.

The installation was precisely fine for me, neither too good nor too poor. Although flashing the BIOS was simple, it could be challenging for beginners just learning to configure the BIOS.

Even if the MSI MED x570 has a high price, it is still well worth your money. I’ll start by discussing the dial-up overclocking knob that comes with it. Now, all it takes to overclock your PC is a turn of this knob.

Additionally, the high-end networking support that this one has completely astounded me. It demonstrates that you made the appropriate investment. Besides, I like the add-on storage and NIC card options.

The X590 was operating considerably too cool, even under a lot of strain. While providing lots of power, it doesn’t overheat. Now let’s move on to some of the less favourable aspects of this motherboard. The difficulties I had using the utility program was the only item that bothered me.

The problematic port selections on the back panel were yet another severe worry. Although we know it is a high-end motherboard, that does not guarantee that ports are present in all conceivable locations.

cool heatsink

Dial-up overclocking knob

Equipped with various PCI-E ports

High-end networking support

Not for novices

Utility software can be challenging to utilise.

Not many port positions are in doubt.

Exorbitant price

Gaming on the MSI MEG X570 GODLIKE will be smooth and enjoyable. If you want a gaming motherboard with a strong foundation and a fantastic design, this is the motherboard to choose. This motherboard’s extraordinarily high price and the fact that you can acquire higher performance for less money are some of its less favourable aspects.

Best Overclocking Motherboard for Ryzen 9 5900X High End

Brand: GIGABYTE | Processor: AMD 3rd gen 5000 series and 2nd gen 3000 series | Chipset Type: AMD X570 | Memory: 128 GB

Many of my readers always ask me to include at least one pick that is our editor’s favourite. And as you all know, your wish is my command, so here I am with the best motherboard for Ryzen 9 5900 editor’s choice, the AORUS Xtreme X570.

There is an exciting new line of motherboards from the GIGABYTE X570 AORUS series for the 3rd Gen AMD Ryzen Processors. This series is designed for enthusiasts who want a lot of performance at a great price.

It has many features of the award-winning GIGABYTE X570 Aorus Elite motherboard. Still, it adds extensive features and upgrades, including PCIe 4.0, DDR4, 10 GbE LAN, Fins-Array Heatsink, 3x M.2 thermal guard, USB 3.1, and much more.

With this fantastic board, you can overclock the CPU up to 2.6GHz and more with up to 12% faster multi-threaded performance and more than 15% higher memory bandwidth.

Gigabyte’s X570 series motherboards are the first products to use their innovative LGA2066 socket and bring you a more user-friendly design. But guys, we aren’t going to know whether these features work or not until and unless we put this motherboard to the test.

The installation was somehow okay and didn’t have any issues. People often complain about not being able to install the m.2 slots, but this one comes with a pre-installed M.2, so no worries, guys, your money is going just into the right place!

Another thing I would like to mention here is that the BIOS was simple to flash as well. That is what I want the most about high-end motherboards. Their BIOS is just way too easy to use. If you guys get any issues with the BIOS, you can have it run well by updating it and nothing else.

Overclocking here was excellent, proving that this is the motherboard you can get for overclocking if you don’t want to spend on other high-end motherboards. I overclocked the system up to 5 GHz, and the results were mind-blowing!

There was nothing to worry about for the temperature because it always remained stable. Even at an idle state, the temperature was somehow really satisfactory, so I am happy with this motherboard.

Because of the perfectly VRM engineered design, I guess the cooling is efficient. Also, some of the efficient cooling parts are played by the passive cooling design of the X570 motherboard.

There is nothing I would like to complain about this motherboard because everything is just built to perfection. However, just one thing that is ridiculous for me here is the price, but then again, guys, this premium price would

Outclass overclocking

In-built heat pipes

Superb connectivity

PCIe expansion slots

The GIGABYTE X570 AORUS Xtreme works excellently but is expensive, but I am telling you that the performance is worth every penny.

ASUS AM4 TUF Gaming X570-Plus

Best Motherboards for Ryzen 9 5900

Best Value Motherboard For Ryzen 9 5900

• Brand: ASUS | • Processor: 16 Cores and 32 processing threads | • Chipset Type: AMD X570 | • Memory: 128 GB

It is infrequent to get components that offer what you pay for them. Here the ASUS TUF Gaming X570-Plus is the best value motherboard for Ryzen 9 5900. At least, this is what many gamers claim, but I am going to tell you whether it is worth your hard-earned money or not.

In addition to the excellent performance, ASUS TUF Gaming X570-Plus also comes with the latest X570 chipset, which provides better overclocking capabilities. ASUS TUF Gaming X570-Plus also supports the latest AMD GPU technologies such as PCIe 4.0, Dual M.2, 12+2 Power Stage, USB 3.2 Gen2 Type A/Type C and much more. The AM4 platform is based on AMD’s socket, motherboard, and chipset.

It allows all types of processors to fit in a single socket. The CPU socket has an interface for the motherboard’s chipset and power supply, which supports AM4, the latest AMD generation of processor sockets.

The motherboard was also easy to install, which I didn’t expect here. Because often inexpensive motherboards aren’t easy to install because of the cheap built material. However, this was not the case here, and I had a short time while installing this one.

Overclocking is something I would not suggest to be done over this motherboard because, guys, it is a bare motherboard. It delivers incredible performance and works without any issue, but overclocking is not what it is designed for.

And with that said so, the BIOS isn’t a much more reliable feature here. It is very clumsy, and I guess you would have to work really hard to get that BIOS thingy to work here because even after updating, the feature was somehow glitchy.

We kept everything aside and the temperatures remained stable even under heavy load. At idle, the temperature was something 60 degrees Celsius or even less than that, and I guess this is because of the motherboard’s design that can dissipate heat quickly in no time.

I want the manufacturers to fix the built-in WIFI connection, lack of USB C header for the front of the case, and glitch BIOS. As for the price we are paying for this one, it must have every feature.

A lot of connectors

Best overclocking performance

High Capacity

High-speed memory

Glitchy BIOS

No USB X header for the front

I like the ASUS AM4 TUF Gaming X570-Plus. The performance is outclassed at this price and pays off right what you paid for it. However, remember that it doesn’t have a USB fan header, and the BIOS here is messed up. Other than that, it is an excellent motherboard.

Best ATX Motherboard For Ryzen 9 5900 Under $150

Brand: Inland | Processor: 16 Cores and 32 processing threads | Chipset Type: AMD B550 & AMD X570 | Memory Capacity: 128 GB

Getting a motherboard for ATX cases isn’t an easy task. You always want to go for a motherboard that performs the best but fits perfectly into your ATX case; these are the main problems ATX PC builders must address.

The MSI MPG X570 Gaming Edge motherboard is one of the best ATX motherboards for Ryzen 9 5900, designed to meet the expectations of high-performance gaming PC owners, with all the necessary features and technologies required for the latest games.

This motherboard offers exceptional cooling solutions, a high-quality audio platform, and innovative connectivity, allowing gamers to experience every game in all its glory for under $150.

The motherboard has all the necessary modern-day features, including AM$, DDR4, PCIe 4.0, SATA 6 Gb/s, M.2, USB 3.2 Gen 2, Wi-Fi, HDMI, and loads of other essential features.

Installation was more accessible here and didn’t have an issue at all. And this part was primarily because the motherboard comes pre-installed with an I/O shield. I liked the shield as it is grounded and protects all the ports from potential electrostatic discharge damage.

It is capable of handling overclocked processors up to 3 GHz. But as it is designed specifically for gaming, I would not prefer overclocking it anyways. The BI(OS here was friendly and had no bugs that usually come with it.

For the temperature part, I wasn’t much impressed because even though I didn’t overclock my system, the temperature remained unstable. Other times I tried to pair an aftermarket cooler with this motherboard, but the temperature drops for me weren’t satisfactory.

While mining, the temperature went very high, but with my Noctua’s CPU cooler, I could get rid of the excess heat in no time.

Spacious heatsink

Nice looking RGB

Works best with overclocking

Quality performance

Gets heated

If you are looking for the best ATX motherboard for Ryzen 9 5900x, then the MSI MPG X570 GAMING EDGE WIFI ‎is all good. It performs the best. However, it might get hot often, and a CPU cooler might do that.
