So, for me, EVGA has been the all-time best high-end and premium power supply for GTX 1080. Now I am not stating that it is one of the best power supplies out there, but guys, it delivers some of the best performance that is indeed worth every penny.

Previously I used a power supply for n=my 1080, and it kept crashing repeatedly. Disappointed by the performance of my power supply, I went on to purchase EVGA Supernova, and by then, my gaming experience had been changed for good.

I was able to play Fortnite for 2 hours without crashing immediately after the replacement, which I could not do previously. It would usually crash after about 15-20 minutes. The next day, I played a few hours of Subnautica, followed by Elite Dangerous. There were no mishaps.

Let’s start with the overall appearance. The PSU has a black matt appearance that I initially found appealing. Furthermore, I believe the build is sturdy and will last a long time for me.

The second feature I appreciated was the length of the cords. Because this power supply is totally modular, the provided wires are ridiculously long. And, as far as I can tell, they can last as long as your PC case. However, some users may not have enough space to accommodate such long wires, which may be a disadvantage.

Even though the cables are long, the primary power supply cable isn’t as long as I would have expected. For example, connecting the entire setup to the power source proved complicated and time-consuming.

Furthermore, I don’t think any of you would need to go out and buy cables individually because they come with many. In addition, I liked how the cables were encased in a net.

Also, everyone had access to cable labels, so I doubt anyone would have difficulty sorting them. I completed the full setup in approximately two hours, and the fit and finish were flawless.

I then tried it on a few different tests. I initially tried gaming over this one to check if it reported any faults or not. Surprisingly, there was nothing to be upset about.

Furthermore, the PSU made no unusual noises during the procedure. Power supplies generally produce a lot of noise, but this one was silent even while running at full capacity.

There were only two minor flaws I could detect with this power supply. One thing is that the manufacturers could have made the power source wire and cord a little longer and of higher quality.

If you guys know me well, you all might know how much of a huge fan I am of Corsair. And, of course, I had to share my powerful and most favorite Corsair power supply with you. So, the RM850x is one of the best power supplies for GTX 1080, according to the editor’s choice.

From the appearance, it looks like its other siblings, the rm650x and the 750x. But guys, in the performance, it is way superior to any other variants available in the same Corsair series. It has this black color finish, and there is not much to tell about the visual appearance of this power supply.

So, last year I purchased this power supply for my wife’s 3090, and this year it works as new as I have bought it today. So when I was building myself a system, I thought, why not get the RM850x.

Overall I loved this PSU because of many reasons. But the main reason behind vouching for this PSU was that it is completely modular, whisper quiet, and of course, comes with every connector you could think of.

First of all, I loved how it had these two types of CPU connectors. I had rarely seen such connectors arrive with any of the high-end PSUs out there. This allowed me to attach the PSU to a motherboard through an 8pin and 4pin CPU connector.

And guys, if you are an overclocking enthusiast just like me, then this PSU will take your gaming experience to the next level. Nothing disappointed me here except for the plastic wraps attached to the end of the cables.

While the installation itself was pretty simple, bending these cables with that wrap was a hassle. And not only this, but the wraps actually restricted me to not twist or curling the cables inside the case too. But that’s a minor drawback, and I didn’t mind that.

Now, built-in cables were also impressive with this PSU. The SATA cables had many ports on one cable. This also allowed me to chain the cables. But one thing I would like to highlight here for the manufacturers is that they must label each port so installation would be much simpler.

I individually tried and tested all of the cables that came up with this PSU for quality assurance. As you all know, there is something about modular PSUs that I couldn’t resist, and I fall for them every time.

Okay, for the performance part, I would say, guys, it’s Corsair; what else could you expect from it? The performance was just mind-blowing! There were no crashes, glitches or even blackouts.

The noise levels, even under heavy load, were somewhat bearable. There were some electrical hums, but then the noise was minimal overall and didn’t even bother me.

First, I will be talking about the visual appearance of this PSU. It is not special; it is all black with that Corsair SF600 logo printed in silverfish-white color and nothing more peculiar.

Now, let’s talk about the installation part. Guys, the installation part for me at least was a hassle because I was installing this one in a huge pc case. Now you guys might be wondering how this could be a problem. So basically, the power cable that came with this one is like a foot in half, and the rest you can understand.

I always advise measuring your PC components, but I wasn’t aware that the power cable would run this short for me. Even in my mid-sized tower, the power cable was insufficient. I am disappointed that a modular design would have this much petty flaw. But then, thankfully, my compact PC case came to the rescue.

Besides the length, the quality of the power cables and every cable that came along with this PSU was superb. Every cable was sleeved with high-quality material, which I guess is the specialty of Corsair.

I tried running it under load, and the performance was decent. Also, I liked how there was no noise even when the PSU was under extreme load. But guys, it ran a tad hot when it was under heavy load. Which I didn’t like, actually.

I would recommend the SF600 to anyone looking to use 1080 for their usual content creation or sometimes for a gaming session. I would not recommend this PSU for serious PC users, especially overclockers, as it can sometimes fry up.
